ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

The elementary program at Reach Academy places an emphasis on every aspect of student growth and development, while meeting state requirements. Small  class sizes and exceptional, qualified teachers allow us to offer a comfortable and inclusive educational environment, while ensuring each student receives the individualized attention and support they need.

The elementary curriculum centers around language rich, hands-on, inquiry based learning activities that provide students with opportunities to develop and improve skills in language arts, math, science, and social studies. Integration of subject matter, an integral component of our program, is used to make learning more meaningful to our students.

Students gain confidence and proficiency in reading and writing through a literature based reading program and writers’ workshop. Mathematics skills are acquired and reinforced through exploration and hands-on activities using GoMath, which stresses the development of problem solving and critical thinking skills.

Science and Social Studies are explored through units of study full of experiential learning and enriched with field trips.

Students also participate in physical education, art, & world language.
